Customisation
In both games the Battle Royale mode, our main point of comparison for this article, players take a heroic drop from a plane, scavenge for gear and prepare to do battle in an ever-shrinking circle of battlefield, which along with gear locations, is randomised for every playthrough. However, several in-game features differentiate the games.
PUBGM is quite simple. Your character enters the battlefield with very little in the way of pre-customisation. In CODM, there are several different gameplay approaches to consider.
In CODM, you have 6 default classes from which you can choose a default perk for your character. One of the players is allowed to be the defender who places the shield down and keeps the team safe. Another can be a medic who can deploy a continuous healing station, useful if you’re under heavy gunfire. You can also make customizable call-outs between yourself, your teammates and enemies nearby. This can definitely enrich the overall gameplay experience.
Weapon Physics
This is particularly interesting as, despite the extremely similar settings, the way each game handles physics realism is quite different – mainly in terms of distance.
For PUBGM, you are able to easily hit all your shots from a certain distance. This is different in CODM, where you can only shoot from a 400- meter range, limiting the abilities of various weapons.
In CODM, SMGs need to be used at a close distance. In a long-range battle, you cannot make use of a UMP weapon to hit your enemy. This features helps to make CODM more realistic and increases the gameplay challenge.
Maps
Though it is true that PUBG Mobile has unique, refreshing and huge maps, CODM, with its single map in the Battle Royale mode, feels great fun to play on.

In this regard, Call of Duty mobile certainly gets to the point in a far more eager manner. It is equipped with unique classes, advanced vehicles (including a helicopter) and has more of an arcade feel. While CODM’s Battle Royale mode is likely to take about 20 minutes per session, getting you to the action pretty swiftly, PUBG Mobile can take over 40 minutes.
Gameplay Modes
CODM initally had a lot more going on here, as it drew upon the fact that CoD is fundamentally much more than just a Battle Royale game. It has your standard multiplayer, 5 vs 5 battles in smaller areas. But there’s also Team Deathmatch, Domination and Search & Destroy.
PUBGM by contrast took over a year to add extra modes that bring it closer to CODM, such as Arcade, EvoGround and Arena.
If you want a simpler no-frills Battle Royale experience, you can also get PUBG mobile Lite, which just includes the base mode, has more basic graphics and takes up a lot less space on your phone.
Again, whether CODM’s modes are better than PUBGM’s is done to your personal preference. Personally, we think CODM offers a bit more value here.
Bottom Line
Though both games can give you a one of a kind experience, and the best fit may depend on your individual preferences, there is little doubt in our minds that CODM wins in providing a better arcade experience.
If you’re impatient to get to the killing, CODM should absolutely be your first choice.
