Sony has added two Fnatic-themed finishes to its INZONE gaming audio range. Announced on Tuesday 6 October, the move gives the INZONE H9 II headset an orange colourway and the wired INZONE E9 in-ear monitors a Glass Purple treatment. Both are cosmetic variants of existing products rather than new hardware.
According to tech outlet SoundGuys, the orange on the H9 II runs across the earcups and the microphone windscreen. The E9’s purple finish has a transparent look and also extends to the 3.5mm-to-USB-C connector bundled with the earphones.
Nothing changes inside. SoundGuys reports that the Fnatic Edition H9 II keeps the same internals and noise cancellation as the standard model, with no acoustic tuning specific to the team. The FPS-optimised EQ preset that comes with the headset is not tied to the new colourway either, so owners of the black or white versions already have it.
The orange option brings the H9 II to three finishes, alongside black and white. Sony positions the headset as part of a platform-agnostic INZONE line aimed at PC and other platforms, and SoundGuys describes its design as rooted in the company’s WH-1000XM6 headphones.
The E9 stays a wired in-ear product. Its Glass Purple version likewise sits next to existing black and white models. Sony’s wireless earbud option in the same family remains the INZONE Buds, which are not part of this colour refresh.
Pricing is the open question. Sony had not confirmed what the special editions will cost at the time of the SoundGuys report. For reference, the standard H9 II was listed at $250 against an MSRP of $349.99, while the E9 was listed at $130 against an MSRP of $149.99. No UK pricing has been given.
For PC players weighing up a purchase, the practical upshot is simple. Anyone after the audio performance can buy the regular model, often at a discount, and get an identical headset. The Fnatic versions are aimed at fans who want their kit to match the London-based organisation’s colours.
Sony and Fnatic already have an established relationship around the INZONE brand, and branded hardware of this kind is a familiar way for gaming peripheral makers to lean on esports partnerships. The orange H9 II and Glass Purple E9 are the latest examples, with release pricing still to be announced.
