GTA V is the latest in the series (although 2013 is hardly recent!) and will sometimes have issues running on PC, depending on your particular configuration. Here are some basic troubleshooting steps to help you identify common problems, with some helpful tips on how to fix them.
Once you start playing the game, you may encounter several errors or warnings that have to be fixed if you come across any of the following. Here are a few of the most common issues and their fixes.
Unable to Detect Windows Media Player
At times, you may see the error saying “unable to detect Windows media player” but there’s no need to panic. It’s pretty simple to fix, just head over to the control panel, click on Windows features, and head over to the Media features option. Now click on Windows media player and then click on Install if the media player isn’t installed. That’s how simple it is to get rid of this error.
GTA 5 Has Stopped Working
This is the most common issue faced by most gamers. This is usually not related to core game files, but your graphics driver or Visual C++ in Windows.
