G2 Esports opened their VALORANT Champions 2026 campaign with a clean 2-0 win over TYLOO in Shanghai, sending the North American side straight through to the winners’ bracket of Group C while the Chinese host-region team drops into the lower side.
The series began on Lotus, where the final scoreline of 13-6 in G2’s favour disguised a much tighter contest. TYLOO raced into an early lead on attack, whipping the home Shanghai crowd into a frenzy, before G2 rallied with a strong defensive half to claw the map back. On the attacking and defensive splits, TYLOO finished 6-0 for a total of six rounds, while G2 closed out 7-6 on their way to the 13-6 map win.

The G2 lineup of jawgemo, BABYBAY, trent, valyn, leaf and splash needed only two maps to book their place on the winners’ side of Group C, a group also featuring several players tipped as ones to watch at Champions Shanghai.
