Spirit beat FURIA 2-1 on Monday 26 October in Round 3 of the PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 group stage. The result leaves the second-ranked side with two wins and one defeat in Romania, while FURIA have now lost two in a row.
The gap in the Elo power rankings pointed towards Spirit. They are second with a rating of 1909 and a 54-16 record across 70 rated matches. FURIA sit 15th on 1811, with a 48-32 record from 80. The scoreline was closer than those numbers suggest.
FURIA level after a 54-minute opener
Spirit took the first map after 54 minutes, the longest of the three. FURIA answered straight away, levelling the series with a 42-minute win on map two, the shortest of the contest. The decider ran to 50 minutes before Spirit closed it out.
Spirit did not have a smooth path through Bucharest. They opened the event with a 2-1 defeat to BetBoom Team and had also arrived on the back of two losses in ESL Pro League Season 24, to Aurora Gaming and MOUZ. A 2-0 win over TYLOO in Round 2 and now this victory over FURIA mean back-to-back wins at the event.
Spirit make it three from three against FURIA in 2026
This was the third meeting between the sides this year. Spirit won all of them. They beat FURIA 2-1 at PGL Astana on 11 May, then 2-0 at BLAST Open Porto Fall on 31 August.
For FURIA, the defeat continues a sharp turnaround. They came to Bucharest after winning their last three matches at the Thunderpick World Championship, including a 3-2 victory over BetBoom Team and a 2-0 win against Aurora Gaming. A 2-0 win over DENDELE CS in Round 1 stretched that run to four. Since then, a 2-0 loss to Natus Vincere and this defeat have left them with one win from three games in the group.
MOUZ rematch for Spirit on Tuesday
Elsewhere in Round 3, BetBoom Team, the side who beat Spirit in their opener, swept Natus Vincere 2-0. Liquid beat Legacy by the same score. DENDELE CS edged G2 2-1, TYLOO got past 9z 2-1 and FUT Esports beat Vitality 2-1.
MOUZ also won 2-0, beating TheMongolz, and they are Spirit’s next opponents. That match is on Tuesday 27 October, with Spirit looking to reverse the 2-1 defeat MOUZ handed them in ESL Pro League Season 24.
