FURIA lost the first map to Legacy on Thursday 15 October, then took the next two to win the Group B winners’ match at the Thunderpick World Championship 2026. The deciding map was the longest of the three at 64 minutes. It also ended a losing run against an opponent that had beaten them twice in the past two months.
Legacy’s 53-minute opener fits a familiar pattern
Legacy struck first, winning a map that lasted 53 minutes. That start matched their recent record in this fixture. They beat FURIA 2-1 at the Esports World Cup 2026 on 23 August and won 2-0 at FISSURE PLAYGROUND Season 3 2026 on 10 September.
FURIA answered quickly. The second map was the shortest of the series at 42 minutes, and it levelled the tie. The third went FURIA’s way after more than an hour, so the series ended in their favour despite the early deficit.
Lower-ranked FURIA overturn the Elo order
On the Elo power rankings this was a mild upset. Legacy sit 12th with a rating of 1819, while FURIA are 16th on 1798. The two sides are almost inseparable on paper, with records of 45-29 and 45-30 respectively across their rated matches.
The win gives FURIA two series victories from two at this event, following a 2-0 defeat of BetBoom Team. That is their first back-to-back pair of wins in their last six results. Before arriving, their ESL Pro League Season 24 2026 campaign had alternated between results: a 2-1 win over PARIVISION, a 1-2 loss to Aurora Gaming, a 2-0 win over 9z and a 0-2 defeat to MOUZ.
Legacy had opened with a 2-0 victory over PARIVISION. That came after consecutive ESL Pro League Season 24 2026 defeats, 0-2 to 1WIN and then 1-2 to M80. They have now won one of their last four series.
PARIVISION fall to BetBoom Team in elimination match
The two teams beaten in the opening matches met in an elimination match, and BetBoom Team won 2-1. That ends the tournament for PARIVISION, who had already lost 2-0 to Legacy. BetBoom Team, whom FURIA swept in their opener, stay in contention.
Elsewhere, Team Falcons beat 9z 2-1 in the other winners’ match, having earlier swept NIP 2-0. Aurora Gaming then beat NIP by the same scoreline in an elimination match.
The Thunderpick World Championship 2026 runs until 18 October. FURIA have won both of their series so far.
