GameSir has confirmed a licensing tie-up with Epic Games that will bring two Fortnite-branded mobile controllers to market on 20 October. The collection comprises the GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and the GameSir X5 Lite for XBOX Fortnite Edition, marking a fresh expansion of Fortnite’s officially licensed hardware range.
The G8 Plus is positioned as the premium model, built for players who want console-calibre input away from a console. It features Hall Effect sticks, a technology designed to resist the stick drift that can develop over prolonged use, alongside mappable rear buttons intended to speed up building and editing during matches. It carries an MSRP of $89.99.
The X5 Lite takes a simpler, budget-focused approach. It is a lightweight, wired controller aimed at players after a straightforward plug-and-play device rather than a flagship peripheral, and is priced at $49.99.
Both controllers lean heavily into Fortnite’s visual identity, with character-inspired artwork and collectible-style packaging rather than plain branding. The partnership is being managed through IMG Licensing. GameSir’s VP of Partnerships said the aim was to build something that feels like a genuine Fortnite experience from the hardware up, rather than simply applying a logo to an existing product.
Each controller comes with a bundled digital in-game item. Examples cited include emotes such as Bully and Gun Show, and gliders such as Cerberus and Storm Sigil, giving buyers a small extra incentive alongside the hardware itself.
The move reflects Fortnite’s heavily mobile and cross-platform audience, making dedicated peripheral support a logical step for a publisher that has long backed third-party hardware on phones and tablets. Hall Effect sticks have become an increasingly common selling point in the mobile controller space as manufacturers compete on drift resistance, particularly as mobile gaming continues to grow in regions such as Southeast Asia.
The GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and X5 Lite for XBOX Fortnite Edition are set to launch on 20 October through GameSir’s own website as well as retailers including Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, where listings are currently available for pre-order.
