NRG have knocked world number two MOUZ into the lower bracket at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, winning their opening-round series 2-1 in Counter-Strike 2. The result sends the North American side through to the upper-bracket semi-final while MOUZ must now win out to stay alive in the event.
NRG began on their own map pick, Cache, taking an 11-6 first half before edging out a 13-11 win as MOUZ threatened a T-side comeback. MOUZ hit straight back on Inferno, dominating 13-5 behind a strong T-side performance from Lotan “Spinx” Giladi. The decider on Dust2 swung NRG’s way, with Nick “nitr0” Cannella going 13-6 on the T-side to help build an 8-4 half-time lead before NRG closed out the map 13-10.
Before the series, nitr0 had underlined how much a win over MOUZ would mean to his roster. “Any win here for us would be huge,” he said. MOUZ’s Dorian “xertioN” Berman attempted to match nitr0’s Dust2 form on the decisive map but could not prevent NRG from sealing the series, according to Dust2.us.
The victory carries significant weight beyond the bracket. Dust2.us reports the win was worth 129 Valve Regional Standings points and lifted NRG 18 places up the global VRS rankings to 33rd. In the Americas regional standings, NRG leapfrogged paiN and DENDELE to move into seventh place, taking them off the Major bubble spot for now.

MOUZ’s fall into the lower bracket is the most immediate consequence of the defeat, with the world number two now facing elimination from StarSeries Fall 2026 should they lose again. For NRG, though, the ranking swing may prove just as important given how directly VRS points feed into Major qualification calculations.
NRG now progress to the upper-bracket semi-final, where they will meet the winner of the tie between Natus Vincere and Aurora. That match was scheduled for 11:00am the following day, according to Dust2.us’s coverage of the tournament.
